With 3 story unit small lot subdivisions (like VUE Urban Homes) popping up around the city, building up is quickly becoming a trend out of necessity: Land in Los Angeles is hard to come by, so to maximize living space, builders are going vertical.

Which is why after some debate regarding the height of the building possibly being too tall, LA’s planning commission approved the plans for shopping mall developer Rick Caruso’s luxury condominium building. The tower will be 19 stories high with 145 units on a triangular lot right next to the Beverly Center.

“There’s nowhere left to grow in LA so buildings need to grow up,” says Commissioner Caroline Choe. The future of LA real estate is happening now and it’s fun to be a part of it!
